Easy Immune Boosting Sauce

Can’t kick that nasty  cold or flu? Here is a simple sauce that you can make to toss with your favorite  vegetable pasta!!

Garlic and Onion both contain anti-biotic, anti-bacterial and anti- inflammatory properties!

Serves 2-4

Ingredients 

1/2 large cooking onion, rough chopped

6-8 whole peeled garlic cloves

1/4 cup olive oil (more if needed)

1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar (more if needed to taste)

Salt and pepper to taste

Method 

– Prepare all ingredients. Remove onion and garlic skins.

– Place all ingredients into a food processor and  process until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add more olive oil if needed.

– Stir into to your favorite vegetable pasta recipe! Be sure to add the sauce last and use low heat to ensure you are getting the medicinal properties.

– Taste and season accordingly

– Enjoy!

In celebration of heart health month, here is the perfect low-cholesterol, heart friendly bacon alternative! Super Natural has the ingredients in store that you need to make this tasty Mushroom bacon!

Serves 2

Ingredients

8 large size button or cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced

1 Tbsp. Tamari

1 Tbsp. Water

2 Splashes Liquid Smoke

1 Tsp. Agave Nectar

1 Tbsp. Coconut oil (for frying)

Method

– Prep the mushrooms by slicing them thinly.  (The thinner they are, the more crispy the bacon will be)

– In a small bowl, combine the Tamari, water, liquid smoke and agave. Whisk well.

– Heat the coconut oil on HIGH (10) heat until the pan begins to smoke. Reduce the heat  slightly (8) and saute the mushrooms. Saute mushrooms until most of the water has come out. They should have shrunk by at least half or more.

– Reduce the heat to  medium heat (5) and add the liquid combination to the pan. Stir frequently with a rubber spatula as the liquid absorbs.  Cook out until all the liquid has absorbed and mushrooms crisp up,  reducing the heat more as needed to ensure sugars do not burn .

– Remove from heat and serve with your favorite breakfast!

7 Day Apple Cider Vinegar Challenge

Improve Your Health In Seven Days!!

Introduction
As a Holistic Nutritionist, digestion is one of the main issues that I help people with on the daily basis. One of the most affordable tonics to get your digestion back on track is Apple Cider Vinegar which is enzyme rich and nutritious.   I put myself to the challenge of drinking it for 7 days in a row and I must say the results were amazing!
Dose
2 Teaspoons of raw organic Apple Cider Vinegar (I used Bragg’s brand which is available in store at Super Natural Health Products)  diluted in 1 cup of warm water 3 times a day.  Drink mixture half an hour before every major meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Do not consume any other liquids after you drink this mixture until half an hour after you eat (no liquids before, during or half an hour after your meal to allow your body to digest properly)


Why Try This Challenge

Improve digestion and bowel movements, improve skin, cleanse liver, loss weight.

Results and Findings

Day 1: Down the hatch it goes!! In this first day I noticed my skin had broken out, which is a normal side effect. This happens because the vinegar is detoxifying your body. I also noticed that my digestion felt easier and I had three bowl movements this day, meaning that my body was already starting to reap the benefits from the vinegar’s detox.

Day 2: I noticed that my skin was still slightly broken out, but not as bad as day one.  A new finding was that I  felt more satisfied with my meals. I was not finishing a whole plate of food as my body was telling me it was full.  Once again I noticed improved digestion and bowel movements.

Day 3: Skin was healed, beautiful and glowing!! This day I noticed my stomach feels very flat and relaxed. Once again easily satisfied with meals, improved digestion and  bowel movements.

Day 4, 5 & 6: Beautiful skin, flat belly,  sensing fullness easier, improved digestion and bowel movements.

Day 7: I stepped on the scale and realized that the 5 pounds I normally fluctuate has disappeared.  Once again beautiful skin, flat belly,  sensing fullness easier, improved digestion and bowel movements.

Conclusion

I feel beautiful, happy and fulfilled! My body responded extremely well to this simple cleanse.  I am going to include Apple Cider Vinegar in my daily routine for maintenance (only one dose in the morning, or up to 3 times a day if needed if I am having digestion issues {bloating, gas, etc})

This challenge was simple, cost effective and successful. I recommend this to anyone and everyone to try!

Neekoo Chocolate Matcha Power Balls

Neekoo Chocolate Matcha Power Balls
Makes about 10 balls

CHOCO BALLS

Ingredients:
1/2 Cup Neekoo pitted dates (soaked in warm water for a few minutes, drain well)
1/4 Cup Neekoo raw almonds
1/4 Cup Neekoo raw sunflower seeds
1 Tbsp. Neekoo unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tbsp. Neekoo matcha green tea powder
Pinch of Neekoo Himalayan salt
Warm water (if needed)
Method:
– Grind the sunflower seeds and almonds in food processor and process until ground. Set aside in a small bowl.
– Process the soaked dates in food processor and process until it comes together as a paste. Put the date paste into a larger bowl.
– Fold into the date paste the nut/seed mixture, matcha, cocoa powder and salt. Form into a large dough ball. Add small amounts of water if necessary. Set the ball in the bowl in the fridge for about 20 minutes to make it easier to work with.
– Remove the bowl with the ball from fridge. Break off smaller,even sized, individual sections and roll into 10 small balls
– Store in refrigerator in an air-tight container for up to 2 weeks or longer in freezer.
