TVP provides 2.5 to 3 times the protein of meat. Most meats are around 14-21% protein, but dry TVP is more than 52% protein.
I suppose a fair comparison would be with dehydrated beef such as jerky. Jerky has about 32% protein . But when you factor the price per kilogram of protein, meat is 3.5 times more costly. This doesn’t factor in the cost of animal farming to the environment.
